The Centre in February: Preparation Courses and Tour to the Firehouse
February might be the shortest month of the year, but it certainly is not lacking in experiences at the Centre. You can expect a unique tour, tailor-made Czech language courses and practical lectures. Whether you want to take a look behind the scenes of the work of firefighters, handle taxes stress-free or better prepare for language exams, February is the perfect time for it!
Behind the Gates of the Fire Station
What does the work of professional firefighters look like up close? Come find out on a tour of the Brno - Lidická fire station, which will take place on February 4 at 15:00. During the tour, you will get to know the history of the professional fire brigade in Brno, take a look behind the scenes of the fire station with the highest number of callouts in the Czech Republic, and get to know the latest firefighting technology. You will find out what kind of incidents firefighters are most often called out to and what their work involves. It is an experience that will thrill both children and adults alike.
MoreCzech as a Key to Residence Permits and Citizenship
Are you preparing for a language exam for permanent residence or state citizenship? Starting February 23, we are opening new preparatory Czech language courses that will guide you step-by-step through all parts of the exam. The courses take place twice a week, in small groups, and focus on exactly what you need during the exam, without any extra theory. Registration is open from February 2 to 8 and you can choose a course for level A2 (permanent residence) or B1 (citizenship). You must pay for the courses.
MoreStress-free Taxes
Filing a tax return can be a nightmare; but with our help, it does not have to be. At our lecture “How to Fill out a Personal Income Tax Return”, on February 19 from 16:00, you will learn how to navigate your tax return step-by-step. The lecture is for Non-EU citizens and will be interpreted into English. We will explain what each line means, what information the tax return must contain, and how to correctly calculate your income tax. There will also be a Q&A session.
MoreMeet jako Brno
After a great first evening, we’re excited to invite you to the next Meet jako Brno — a gathering that connects internationals with the local community and opens up new opportunities for networking and inspiration. We’ll meet on February 10th at KUMST, where you’ll discover useful services and gain practical insights — including how to start a business in the Czech Republic as a foreigner.
