Centre in January: Czech for All and Photo Exhibition
Welcome to a new year full of new opportunities, and we look forward to our future steps together. This year, we have again prepared a wide variety of events and Czech language courses for you. We offer lessons at various levels and for various age categories. We believe that there is something for everyone.
Czech Lessons for Beginners and Intermediate Learners
In January we are opening a registration for new Czech grammar courses for foreigners. The courses are held in person and online and are suitable for complete beginners and intermediate learners (levels A1 - A2). They focus on grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and writing, and they are held twice a week for 12 weeks. The registration will be open from January 5 for Non-EU citizens and from January 26 for EU citizens. The courses are free of charge.
MoreCzech for Advanced Learners
Do you want to feel confident when speaking Czech? Paid language courses for B1 and B2 levels will help you better understand native speakers, respond quickly and express yourself naturally. Classes are held in small groups twice a week and they emphasize active use of language. The courses begin on February 23, registration is open from 26 January. Each lesson costs CZK 180 - 200.
MoreCzech for Youth
Children and young foreigners face significant language challenges in school and in everyday situations. Czech language courses for youth help them better understand lessons at school, boost their self-confidence, and fit in more easily with their peers. We are opening several courses for young people aged 14–18, from beginners to students preparing for entrance exams or maturita exams. The courses start on January 12.
MoreMatky Exhibition
The exhibition Matky (Mothers) by Kateřina Kačírek Wiecková presents powerful personal stories of ten mothers – foreigners living in Brno and members of our Tykadla parenting club. Large-format photographs and authentic testimonies explore the themes of motherhood, migration, strength, and vulnerability in a new home. You can attend the exhibition's grand opening on January 15 at 5:00 p.m. at the KJM Central Library. The exhibition will run until the end of January.
