How to sign up for a course:

  1. I am already a client of the Centre – if you have already completed a course with us and passed the final test with a score of at least 70%, register for a course one level higher.
  2. I am a new client and I do not speak any Czech – you do not need to take the placement test. Register for the A1.1 course (Non-Slavic speakers) or the A1 course for Slavic speakers.
  3. I am a new client (I have not attended any course at the Centre for Foreigners), but I speak a little Czech – if you have not yet attended any course at the Centre for Foreigners, you must take a placement test. The test has two compulsory parts: a written part and an oral part.

Placement test

Testing will take place from 13 July to 9 August 2026.

Testing capacity is limited to 40 places.

  • Written part You can find the written part of the placement test here:
Placement test
  • Oral part: The oral part of the test will take place from 10 August 2026.

After you complete the written placement test, our methodologist will contact you within a few days to inform you of the exact date and time of the oral part. The meeting can take place either in person at the Centre for Foreigners or online via Zoom.

We want to give everyone a chance, so we continue to use a fair lottery system.

After registration closes on 23 August 2026, the coordinator will send you an information email within 7 working days to let you know whether you have been selected in the draw and to provide further instructions.

Registration is open from 17. 8. 2026 0:00 until 23. 8. 2026 23:59
