MUNIFESTO

Have you been introduced to the Moravian folklore by an English native speaker yet? If not, don’t worry, you’ll get a great chance soon enough. Come to the opening ceremony of MUNIFESTO (a film festival on the occasion of Masaryk University Centennial) and listen to an avant-garde interpretation of Moravian folklore performed by an American singer Julia Ulehla, accompanied by her great-grandfather’s (Vladimír Úlehla) films. Vladimír’s fast-motion movies picturing accelerated plant growth were an absolute miracle in the first decades of the 20th century. Another English native speaker will host the opening evening – a big Moravian folklore fan and the co-founder of Brno Expat Centre: Don Sparling! So don’t hesitate and book your tickets: this time you won’t be disadvantaged in case you don’t master the Czech language.
